Moving house checklist
So you have found your perfect new home. Now its time to start organising the big move. To make things less stressful and to ensure things go smoothly we have compiled a list of things to do to help the big move go as smoothly as possible without to much stress.
First step to make the move easy would be to sit down and write a list of companies that need to be contacted to help with the move.
Once the settlement date is known the first company to contact would be the furniture removalist. Its best to allow a full day to remove all your furniture and belongings to your new home.
Electricity and/or gas company.
Once the removalist has been organised you can then work out when to have the electricity turned off. Allow a couple of days after the removal day to have the power turned off. This will allow time for the cleaners and carpet cleaners to use the power to help clean your home.
Postal redirects.
Australia posts offers a letter redirection service for people when they move house. This service is inexpensive and can help ensure you receive your mail for up to a year.
Cleaner.
Now the cleaning begins. It would take at least a good day to get the cleaning done at your old house. To take the stress out of moving it’s a good idea to hire a professional cleaning company to help with the cleaning duties.
Carpet cleaning.
The carpet cleaning company would be the last tradesperson that you would need to finish off the cleaning duties at your previous home. Once the carpet cleaners have finished it should be just a matter of closing the front door and the house should be ready for the new owners.
